This CD has a great mix of musical instruments, vocal styles and song types. Combined with the Civil War historical lyrics it makes for a nostalgic, very enjoyable and informative listening pleasure. A few of the tunes I close my eyes and can almost smell the gunpowder and visualize the clashing battle lines. Other songs bring melancholy moods of sadness as I can only speculate the costly tragedy of war.
